Para la creación de esta canción, nos basamos en la Leyenda de los Volcanes, una leyenda con un trágico y emotivo final que interpreta a estos dos personajes de la mitología Mexica, en una bella historia de amor que ha perdurado a través del tiempo…

“Antes de morir, Iztaccihuatl le pidió a Popocatepetl que la llevara a lo más alto de una montaña para que cuando él regresara a casa, pudiera verla más cerca desde el cielo…

Destrozado, el inconsolable Popocatepetl tomó a Iztaccíhuatl en brazos, y con su preciosa carga a cuestas recorrió un largo camino hasta llegar a la cima de una montaña; depositó ahí a su amada, encendió una antorcha, y la lloró varios días y varias noches, sin moverse, hasta morir…”

Our inspiration for this song was the Legend of the Volcanoes, a beautiful legend with a tragic and very emotional ending that interprets these two characters of the Aztec mythology in an enchanting love story that has endured the passage of time…

“A few moments before her last breath, Iztaccihuatl asked Popocatepetl to take her to the top of a mountain, so that when he returned home, he could see her closer from heaven...

Broken, the inconsolable Popocatepetl took Iztaccihuatl in his arms and walked a long way until he reached the top of a mountain; he placed her there, lit a torch, kneeled, and wept for many days and many nights, motionless, until he died…”
